The Tired Faces campaign uses serious images – faces symbolically blemished by tire treads – to remind drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists to look out for one another and follow traffic safety laws.
Now, a new group of Tired Faces ads is putting the spotlight on the safety of older pedestrians.
“It’s a serious campaign for a serious problem,” said David Gamse, CEO of the Jewish Council for the Aging,
“We were proud to work with the Montgomery County Department of Transportation and teams of safety experts, communication professionals and advocates for older adults to create images and messages that address the safety of local seniors,” Gamse said.
You can see the new images with a senior focus on many Montgomery County Ride On buses, as well as on transit shelters and in senior centers. Tired Faces is part of Street Smart, a program sponsored by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments and the National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board.
