JCA and JSSA Merger FAQs


JSSA and the Jewish Council for the Aging (JCA) have announced a merger that will create a dynamic, integrated hub of services for older adults and their families across the Greater Washington, DC region. The merged organization will operate under the JSSA brand, building on the strength, legacy, and shared mission of both organizations while continuing to serve individuals and families at every stage of life.

Frequently asked questions

JSSA is the trusted health and social wellness agency serving the National Capital Region. They help individuals and families through their most vulnerable moments with warmth and compassion. 

They focus on four main areas of care: Supporting people’s mental health and strengthening family relationships, helping individuals find meaningful jobs, caring for older adults so they can age safely at home, and offering dignity and comfort to hospice patients.   

JSSA serves children, adolescents, adults, and seniors of every religious background, race, and ethnicity.

Both organizations recognize the changing needs of the community and the importance of strengthening long-term sustainability. The unified organization creates an innovative hub of older adult services to meet the changing needs of this growing population. 


Yes. All services will continue. The goal is to maintain continuity while improving coordination and expanding support. 


No changes are being made to fees, eligibility, or program structures at this time. 


No.  The combined mission remains rooted in our shared values of human dignity, repairing the world, inclusiveness, and unconditional kindness. We will continue to serve people of all faiths and backgrounds.
