Staff, volunteers, board members, community members and members of County Council celebrated JCA’s 44th annual meeting Oct. 3. Former board members stepped down as a new board accepted its charge. JCA’s Advocate for the Aging Award went to Uma Ahluwalia, director of the County’s Department of Health and Human Services, and Gabe Albornoz, director of the County’s Department of Recreation.
Henry Winokur, JCA technology trainer, was awarded the Jacqueline Unger Community Service Award, and Dana Hirsch, Escorted Transportation and Senior HelpLine manager, was awarded the Ruth Breslow-Youngt Staff Award of Excellence.
Closed for weather
Due to frigid temperatures and icy conditions, Kensington Clubs and Kesher Cafe will be closed for in-person programming for the remainder of this week, January 22, 23, and 24. Programs will be held virtually on Zoom. All KC and Kesher Cafe members are invited to participate and can find the Zoom link in their email.
