For more than four decades, the Jewish Council for the Aging has operated its award-winning Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) as a grantee of Senior Service America, Inc. (SSAI), and how proud we are about that! During FY 2017-2018, SCSEP provided 46,418 community service hours through the work of 92 paid, on-the-job trainees who were age 55 or better and at or below 125 percent of the federal poverty line.
This week, we joined our SSAI colleagues and other employment experts at SSAI’s 2018 “Force for the Future” conference in Dallas, TX, which is focusing on current and emerging workforce issues for older adults. Representing JCA are Assistant CEO Micki Gordon and JCA SCSEP director Yonette Williams.
