JCA’s 48th Birthday, Annual Meeting Was Huge Success

Thank you to everyone who joined us virtually on Sept. 2 as the Jewish Council for the Aging happily celebrated its 48th year by highlighting the work of its staff and volunteers and welcoming in its new board members.

Howard Gleckman began his second year as president. Joining him on the executive board are First Vice President Ronna Borenstein-Levy, Secretary Phyllis Coburn, Treasurer Scot Farrell, and Assistant Treasurer Donald Silverstein.

Elaine Looney, case manager with JCA’s Senior Community Service Employment Program, and Karen Miller with JCA’s Kensington Club won the Ruth Breslow-Young Staff Award of Excellence.

Volunteers Amy Lowenstein and Marina Maglente received the Jacqueline Unger Community Service Award.

Former JCA CEO David Gamse was awarded the David Gamse Humanitarian Award, which was newly named in his honor following his retirement at the end of 2020.
