Gorlitz KC Members’ Artwork on Display at Bender JCC

The Bender JCC’s Art Show, Under One Roof, features a collective work by the Gorlitz Kensington Clubs. After a summer of listening to cicadas, the members drew their own and attached them to a tree. They also included a poem they wrote about the insect’s short life.

Colleen Kemp, JCA director of social adult Day programs for early stage memory loss, stands by the artwork KC members created.

The work was created in four sessions as the members discussed the Talmud passage, “Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world’s grief…You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it.”
