Alzheimer’s Rally for Access

From the Alzheimer’s Impact Movement:

Last year, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) made the unprecedented decision to deny Medicare coverage of all current FDA-approved treatments for Alzheimer’s disease, and any future treatments in this class. This coverage determination was the first time ever that CMS chose to not have Medicare cover an FDA-approved drug. Which is why CMS must reverse its decision!

These treatments are proven to slow the progression of the disease. Leading Alzheimer’s researchers and clinicians overwhelmingly agree that patients should have access to Medicare coverage for them.

Access to these treatments means more time for the person living with dementia. More time with loved ones, more time to enjoy life, or more time to hope for a cure.

Which is why we are rallying for #AccessNow on Wednesday, May 24th at 12pm at HHS Headquarters on 200 Independence Ave SW, Washington DC 20201. Please register to attend and receive more details!

We want to show CMS that we mean business and what better way than to gather hundreds of advocates from across the DMV to speak up with one voice and demand #AccessNow!
