For the second year in a row, the Beacon newspapers is presenting a unique Virtual 50+Expo that offers visitors a tremendous amount of informative and entertaining content.
The event’s custom-designed website is open and provides immediate, free access, 24/7, to dozens of classes, speakers, and entertainers chosen especially for people over 50 in the Greater Washington area.
The event’s keynoter is award-winning talk show host Diane Rehm, whose Diane Rehm Show was on NPR for more than 30 years. Rehm engages with Beacon publisher Stuart Rosenthal in a discussion about her broadcast career and the books she has written.
A second keynote presentation is by Dr. Mark Warshawsky, former Deputy Commissioner of Social Security, about the future of Social Security and ways in which it can be fixed.
In addition, the online expo will include video demonstrations and classes on yoga, meditation, cooking, nutrition, Medicare, and more.
More than a dozen expert speakers will address health and wellness, legal matters and estate planning, scam avoidance, gardening, and more.
Entertainment will cover an equally broad range, from stand-up comedy to rock and roll to chamber music.
The Virtual 50+Expo will also provide useful information from dozens of informative exhibitors — including government agencies, nonprofits, and area businesses offering products and services to older adults and their families.
