Interages Volunteer Intake


Thank YouThank you for expressing interest in volunteering with the JCA Heyman Interages® Center. you may want to watch the explanatory videos to better understand the full application process. Below the videos, you will find some forms to fill out. There are forms for all volunteers, forms for volunteers under the age of 18 and some requirements for those who want to work with Montgomery County Public School students.

  • Criminal Background Check Release
  • Fingerprinting Pre-registration Application
  • Fingerprinting Appointment Scheduling: Schedule your fingerprinting appointment (this can take 7- 10 business days to receive the background clearances from the state)

  • Fingerprinting Reimbursement Invoice
  • Recognizing Child Abuse and Neglect Training Online Webinar via the myMCPS Classroom/Canvas account. Sign in as a guest using your personal email. Gradesheet will show 100% for successful completion. Valid for three academic years.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Attestation – NEW!  MCPS will not accept an upload of the CDC Vaccination Card.  MCPS requires uploading a pdf of the State Department of Health Vaccination Certification or a Doctor’s letter (Gradesheet will show 83.3% for successful completion) MCPS is asking for a .pdf copy of the vaccination certificate in order to upload it to this module, you download a copy from Maryland MyIR (directions for completing this process are located in this support guide). As an alternative, you may also upload a copy of one of the following:
    • State Department of Health Certificate of COVID Vaccination (DCVAWV)
    • Vaccination verification provided by the volunteer’s health insurance provider
    • A letter from a primary care physician attesting to your vaccine status
    • Once on the state site, follow the prompts which bring you to the downloadable pdf.

After downloading the certificate of vaccination, follow these steps:

Go to https://classroom.mcpsmd.org/

– Click on guest login

– sign in with your PERSONAL email and password.  If you have forgotten your password, you can click forgot password and create one.

After the requirements are met, volunteers are given an MCPS badge.  The badge is valid for one year. In-person pickup is required to renew a badge.
