Webinar: SmithLife Homecare is hosting a free online seminar on respite care to help you take a break from caregiving with The Arc Montgomery County
July 19, 2023, 11:00 am.

If assistance is essential and you are over sixty, respite coordination from SmithLife Homecare and The ARC Montgomery County can provide free support for a limited time!

Respite coordination allows family caregivers to take a temporary break from their caregiving responsibilities. Read on to learn more about eligibility, how to apply, and program guidelines for respite care.

The Arc Montgomery County offers short-term respite care for primary caregivers who are not paid and live with a loved one who has a functional disability, intellectual/developmental disability, challenging behavior, or is a frail senior citizen. Respite care can be provided for a few hours, a day, a weekend, or sometimes longer, but it is not a substitute for ongoing care, school, alternative childcare, adult day care, or any other funded program. It is a way to support families who care for their loved ones at home. Families have the option to choose from various respite care settings, such as the family home, community and recreational programs, camps, and approved respite facilities.

This event is brought to you by SmithLife Homecare and presented by Julia Abate, a respite expert who has been employed with The Arc Montgomery County since 2006.
